Gold Plated Square Framed Drop Earrings - Oxidised Blue
Square framed drop earrings which encase blue enamel with gold lustre, and paired with hanging curved rectangle shapes in a dark blue. These earrings are oxidised which highlights the gold lustre within the enamel. The earring hooks are made from 0.8mm wire and are gold plated sterling silver. These earrings are light to wear and have a lovely movement to them when worn. The backs of the enamel drops are also counter enamelled in the dark blue.

Inspired by the colours and patterns of honeycomb, the enamel on these earrings have been fired repeatedly in the kiln with layers of Vitreous and Industrial enamel to achieve the organic patterns within the enamel. Lastly, gold lustre has been added which gives a lovely shimmering effect, especially when the light catches and contrasts beautifully with the oxidised silver. Each pattern is completely unique due to the hand drawn qualities and the nature of the enamel when fired in the kiln, therefore making these earrings one of a kind.
Care Instructions:
Vitreous enamel is glass and although pieces are fairly hard wearing, care should be taken not to drop, apply any force or scratch the surface of the enamel. It is advised not to get your piece wet and avoid any contact with chemicals. Take your piece off before showering and washing up. It is recommended to put your piece on over a soft floor such as carpet and stored separately from other jewellery. If your silver has become slightly tarnished and needs shining up, a silver polishing cloth works well.
Gold plated pieces should only be gently rubbed with a jewellery polishing cloth to remove any tarnish.
These earrings are oxidised which means the silver is placed in a chemical solution to blacken the silver. Oxidisation is semi-permanent and the colour may fade and rub off over time, especially if in contact with chemicals and with any abrasion.
